This hike began deceptively cold and slippery! The road had a bunch of snow and this time in January was shaping up to be a cold winter hike.
We could see the view through scattered clouds and sunlight of the various mountain peaks around us.
The patches of melting snow for a welcome surprise to break up the colors of green in this lush forest hike.
Ferns dominated this trail along with a winding river that graced us with her presence throughout the hike
We came across numerous meadows and clearings, which highlighted the different shades of green that we see in the Pacific Northwest.
But nothing prepared as for the first glimpse of this majestic waterfall! We heard it before we could see anything.
We kept on going through wooded trails, walkways and foot bridges over the lush terrain!
The middle falls were visible from the trail at this point and it was a majestic view! The spray from the water and the sound from the flowing waterfall was cathartic to the soul!
From all the waterfalls we saw. the most impressive was the Middle Falls which boasted a 260ft drop followed by some additional cascades said to tumble another 100ft or so
Remember we said magical moments? This was a magical spot where we shared our home-made lunch sandwiches and de-stressed after the hike! It is always important to hydrate so make sure you are taking care of your body! Panoramic Views at this view point where we could see the Olympic Mountains.
Shake a leg
